Access to Education for Asylum Seekers

The Sydney Alliance believe in supporting asylum seekers to work towards having a fully productive life in Australia. Asylum seekers living in the community who wish to develop skills and knowledge by completing TAFE qualifications in order to access work struggle to do this because of the high fees. This is an issue not only recognised by us is also one that many other organisations are working on too. In the Changing the Conversation table talks which have happened in 2015 many people across Sydney have shown their support in wanting to increase the living standards of asylum seekers and this has led to a committed team being formed to act on this.

We are calling on the government to:

Give all asylum seekers in NSW concession rates for all TAFE courses
